Hello LJ! It's been a while. Twitter, Tumblr, and a general lack of fannish activity had stolen my attentions from you. However! I just got done watching Battlestar Galactica. And I want to draw all the characters and make a Starbuck costume (I practically already have the hair! :D!) and read fan-fiction that fixes plotholes. And fic in which Adama and Rosalin make kissy face. And pretty much any other fic. cylonAnd I doubt making this post will help me find said fan-fiction, as I don't know that any of my f-listers are BSG fans, but stilllll. Okay so I am considering pulling an all-nighter so I can finish this final project thingwhatsit, but since I've finished a little chunk of it I'm going to lj post instead. vain as haaaaleAnd since I've only got, er, 3 hours to decide if this is going be an all-nighter, I think the 'considering' stage may be over. Oh well! First off, this is for srs the only picture I could find of me as Watson. Anyone else at AnimeBoston, did you get any pictures?  I am possibly not as dapper as I could be. TUT TUT, NO USE WORRYING NOW, OLD BOY.AND, that same weekend my friend Ian gave me THE BEST SHIRT EVER:  In case my VOLUPTUOUS WOMANLY CURVES are in the way, the shirt says "2 Heroes are Better than 1!" Seriously, I am the kind of guy who knows t-shirts, and that is a good t-shirt. I'm not going to lie, you guys. I am kind of wildly attracted to myself in this picture. Updating LJ is hard, you guys. I will do a quick, post Boston Comic Con update now, and maaaaaaybe do more later. dorkyAnyway, on Saturday I went to Boston Comic Con with my friend Ian and his lovely girlfriend Ada. He had a table to promote his comic The Deathlings (pimpity pimp: http://thedeathlings.com/ ) as well as the other comic/photography projects he's working on. Not only was it downright awesome to hang around and watch people take an interest in things that came from my friend's brain, but because of him having I table I A. Got in free, B. Didn't have to wait in the 2+ hour line and C. Had somewhere to keep all of my crap. All in all? EXCELLENT experience. I was also dressed as Robin, and a few people even called me Stephanie, which always makes me grin like an idiot. :D :D :D  That's all the stuff I got. Good haul, I think. And wait, that's NOT everything, because I also got this FRIGGEN SWEET TSHIRT. It features a DINOSAUR.  I can't remember the name of the artist, but when I looked through his portfolio I recognized his style from Project Rooftop and I was like 'OMG, I LOVE YOUR ART." Then I bought a tshirt. SPEAKING OF PROJECT ROOFTOP. ( Cut because this post is already getting longer than I intended. Click for art featuring girl Robins by OMFG AMAZING PEOPLE. ) All in all, great con. Much bigger and better than last year. And now, because it always happens after I hit one of these things, I'm going to be all COMICS COMICS COMICS OM NOM NOM MOOOORREEE for the next three weeks or so. So I've finished the homework I intended to finish today, and I'm sitting in a restaurant with free wifi and coffee refills. So Ima reward myself by posting a mini RDJ picspam.  awakeBut this is not just ANY Robert Downey Jr. picspam. This is a RDJ + musical instruments picspam. Because skdjhfsdlfsjdkfksdfkds why do I need to explain this? (lol I just typo'd 'explain' as 'sexplain')  ( more (mostly pianos) under the cut ) ANYWAY, feel free to provide mooooooore. Because I fear my collection is severely lacking. Unrelated: So, uh. Hypothetically, lets say I had a ridiculously long (by my standards) Star Trek/Sherlock Holmes crossover I was working on. Does anyone know --completely hypothetically-- where I could post such a thing? And yeah, by even mentioning it I'm jinxing any chance I have of finishing the damn thing, BUT STILL. In still other news, I have been watching all of the RDJ and Jude Law movies I can get my hands on, because I am PREDICTABLE. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is <333333, Jude Law sure does play a lot of crazy and/or bitchy gay dudes, and I am seriously considering learning how to do make-up so I can make a Minx costume. WHO HAS TWO THUMBS AND A SCANNER THAT FINALLY WORKS WITH HER LAPTOP? chipper THIS GUY. (That's actually from this weekend. I was wandering around a Boston and found a fug hat and giant dork glasses and decided to do a Zachary Quinto impression. THE JJ-APPROVED LENSFLARE WAS ENTIRELY ACCIDENTAL.) So yeah finally got my scanner working with my computer, so now all the silly doodles I do in class can be viewed in their FULL GLORY. ...Hooray? Only have a couple so far. Probably get around to scanning more later. For now, have Girlock Holmes and Dr. Joan Watson.  Aaaand, the crew of the USS Dunder-Mifflin  Also this weekend was kind of amazing. I got to hang out with Ian and Amy ( ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif?v=92.1){kind=small} myselftheliar), and her fabulous friend Val, We saw Star Trek in IMAX with a few other trekkies, then on Saturday I ate delicious food (that would have been more delicious without the damn olives) and went to Rocky Horror Picture Show dressed as Watson and I tipped my hat at ladies and got lapdances and basically it was the most awesome. Val was taking pictures, and I'm hoping I'll be able to snag a couple and show them off, because, you guys, I think I make a pretty damn good Dr. Hotson, just sayin'. Also Amy is the bestest Frank and she will make you eat your boyfriend if you say otherwise.( more pictures of me being ridiculous (just not dressed as Watson) ) |

So I guess I'm into Torchwood now! And as a result I have even seen a few episodes of Doctor Who. chipperI still haven't seen Children of Earth, as I'm waiting for Netflix to send the DVDs, but I've watched pretty much everything else I could get my grubby little hands on. This show is about a bunch of pretty/ridiculous/adorable people! Who make out with eachother! And also fight aliens! But mostly make out. I LIKE IT :D Captain Jack is basically Captain Kirk if you took away any sense of decency and gave him a friggin' snazzy coat. And Ianto is like a hybrid of Alfred from Batman and a perpetually terrified chipmunk. And I want to shoot guns with Gwen and give her hugs and talk about aliens over coffee. I'm pretty sure Owen is what happens when Dr. McCoy and Kirk have a kid. And I just want to sit in a room with Tosh and watch her be a genius. Most importantly, though, this picture exists, and I will never stop grinning at it:  And possibly I've been influenced in other ways:  And now I wait for Children of Earth to break my little fannish heart. (Oh, and if anyone has any fic recs, please comment with them! I haven't looked for much yet, since I'm not quite done with the series. So some of you may remember me winning that Inglourious Basterds Bear Jew Movie idea contest a couple weeks ago. And even fewer of you might remember what the prize was for that contest. crazyWell, that prize was a god-damned Bear Jew poster signed by the god-damned Bear Jew. BECAUSE SOMETIMES THE UNIVERSE LOVES ME.   And, of course, the DVD came out today. I am, perhaps, a bit excited.  I have exactly one homework assignment to do before I'm done for the semester. And I'm still putting it off. I know once it's done I'll feel fantastic, like a horrible, stressful weight has been lifted off my chest, and yet, I procrastinate. HEY BRAIN DO WHAT I TELL YOU. |
